When I told my pastor I was called to preach, one of the first things he said to me was that this process included “on the job training.”
Since my last entry, I’ve been very active in ministry. The associate ministers at my church, affectionately called The Sons of Antioch, delivered the last sayings of Jesus on the cross on Good Friday. I shared a Word on Jesus’ third saying, found in John 19:26-27.
We’re currently rotating preaching on Wednesday evening and I just delivered a sermon entitled, Don’t Trip on the Trouble, based on Psalm 138:7. My pastor has charged all of us to always have a sermon in our pocket, because we may be called to preach at any time.
I started a new job and I have mixed feelings about it. The schedule interferes with my Young Adult ministry and Praise Team ministry on Mondays and Tuesdays, respectively. I’m praying that things change, quickly.
Overall, I’m working…in every sense of the word.
